What Nedbank can offer you

Nedbank offers personal loans that are so flexible they can be used as a traditional student loan for those wishing to pursue tertiary academic studies.

One of the most unique features of our student loans is that we offer those who need to do their articles, community services or any year of practical work a loan repayment grace period.

Funding for university and college study

With a Nedbank Student Loan you can fund your studies at a university or college while also receiving enough to pay for your accommodation and study material like books and stationery.

Our interest rates are low - and therefore affordable while our repayments terms are flexible enough to ensure you're able to repay it in a moderate and paced manner.

In a Nutshell

We help you finance education with our flexibe student loans

To apply for a loan you must provide a copy of your ID, your latest academic results, proof of income via bank statements or payslips, an income and expense statement, invoice from your chosen university or college for study and/or accommodation fees and proof of acceptance from the chose educational institute.

You can apply at any Nedbank branch near you but keep in mind, if you are a full-time student, you will need to be supported by a guarantor who has his/her main transactional bank account with us (if he/she doesn’t have an account with us, we can open one quickly).

If you need financial assistance for more than one year of study, a new application for every year is required. Each new application should be accompanied by proof to show that you have been permitted to continue with your studies. This can be shown by providing us with your academic results for the previous year.

Making your repayments

Part-time students will be required to make both capital and interest repayments while they’re studying, while full-time students can have their guarantor assist them with their interest repayments during their studies. They will only need to start repaying the principal loan amount after completing their studies.

How we evaluate your application

We are a bank that believes in the individuality of our customers. Hence, when you submit an application to us, we make sure to assess you fairly and responsibly. Every application goes through a credit and affordability assessment in order to help us determine one, if we can help you with a loan and two, how much we can help you with.

We are dedicated to excellent customer service

At Nedbank, we are dedicated to customer service excellence and will always do our best to ensure that you have all of your questions and worries addressed.

If you need more information about our student funding options and processes you can contact us via email or telephone or visit a branch to speak to a consultant.
